Description
The title of this portrait is a play off his 1966 album, "Bringing It All Back Home", the one that he first introduced the electric guitar into his music. It was an electrifying period for Dylan and his music, and I tried to capture that in this digital painting.
The colors are loud and thrown together in a chaotic manner, the lenses in his sunglasses mirror the chaos of the times he was living in and causing. His audience was in an uproar because he was leaving his folk background and embarking on a more commercial and exciting musical path. The portrait is cropped close to show the uneasiness this change was causing and the arrogance he was showing at this time. He was young and in everyone's face.
I painted this with a red, white, and blue color palette to show how America was seen at the time through his eyes and especially through his music.
